Many people say that we already have a company website so what's the need of creating a website for my personal name domain. It's recommended that you have your own web address for your personal brand and you can divert that traffic to the company website.
Having a company website will not serve the purpose of building a personal brand because that is for your business but you also need a separate space in the digital world.
Checklist for your personal brand website
Home page: This is the space to mention everything in brief, 80% of visitors will check only this section, use it wisely to make a lasting impression, optimize it, design it, strategize it. If they like your home page content only them they would be interested to check more tabs on your website, else not. So put only important and most relevant stuff their that your visitors would be looking for when they decided to check your website.
About you: I have seen people mentioning everything about them on the home page itself as they believe everyone who is visiting their website is only interested to know their story. No, people may want to look at what is there for them, what is your credibility in the market, what business you do that can help them. Put only in brief about you at the home page however you can mention your story one a separate tab (About me) and let them seek more information there if they wish.
Your Expertise: Rather than sharing the bunch of product information on the home page, tell them your expertise first. What you are good at or why they should connect with you. Clarify that one reason they should build a next-level relationship with you by subscribing to your email list, messaging you, calling or emailing you.
Product & Services: Display your product or services on your website on the separate tab. You may create a catalog of your offering on this tab and also integrate a payment link if you want people to buy at your website. Or you may divert them to a landing page.
Landing Pages: Create a separate landing page for each of your services, with all the required information about the service, testimonials from the customers, payment integration, subscribers form, call to action, offer details, benefits, and the features etc.
Blog: blogs build profile credibility, you must have them to build a personal brand in your niche. Blogs attract traffic to your website. When people read your blogs they become interested to know more about you. Blogs get a faster conversion for your business.
Testimonials: You can create a separate tab for testimonials or mention them on the home page. You can also mention them only on landing pages as that is the best place for them.
Social media links, plugins: Integrate your social media links or plugins to your website to showcase your work. For example, if you are a photographer, makeup artist, fashion designer or interior designer, integrate your Instagram feed or Facebook page feed where you have posted the pictures of your work.
A quick call to action: Convert your website visitors into leads with a quick call to action such as subscriber form, 10 minutes free consultation, join my community, watch my videos, fill a survey, take a test etc, this also works as a lead magnet for you.
I'm sure now you are convinced why we all need a website to build our personal brand.
